quiet time

On a remote, country road, I said to JC, “I think the Lord must’ve wanted time alone with us [to bring us to this isolated road, at the conclusion of this day].”

The sun was setting, and all the colors of the surrounding landscape became more brilliant with each passing moment.

Psalm 8:1 KJV

Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

In an attempt to obtain permission to pitch our tent in a patch of grass for the night, JC knocked on door after door as we made our way down miles of country road. But, no one answered. Once darkness fell, he stopped trying. It had become apparent to us we’d have to keep walking until we reached the next town, located approximately 4 miles away.

I didn’t like it. The deep darkness enveloped the landscape around us, and a sense of uncertainty & unpredictability overwhelmed me.

But, my loving, strong & confident husband assured me we’d be fine.

Psalm 8:9 KJV

Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
